Step 1: What brand of roof window do you have?

If you don’t already know what make or brand of roof window you have, look for a reference or logo which may be found on the window itself, the handle, or most likely on the serial tag. The serial tag can usually be located on top of the sash (the part of the window that moves).

If you still can’t find it , don’t panic! Call the Loft Shop team on 0870 6040404. We will be delighted to help!

What brand of roof window do you have?
Step 2: What is the letter prefix on your serial code?

The first letters on most roof window serial tags refer to the series, or type of roof window. The serial tag can usually be located on top of the sash (the part of the window that moves) In some cases particularly with Roto 435 and 735 roof windows, the serial code is found in a red or blue plastic case on the black arms which support the sash. Common examples of serial tags are displayed on the right. In each case the prefix has been circled. Simply pick the correct prefix from the drop down box and move to step 3.

Step 3: What size is your Roof Window?

The second part of the serial tag commonly refers to size. However some manufacturers use codes rather than the actual dimensions. Common examples of serial tags are displayed on the right. In each case the size has been circled. Simply pick the correct size from the drop down box and move to step 4.

Thank you very much for taking the time to comment on our service, we always strive to do the best we can.

 

The narrow single strip of tape is purely used to hold the cassette i.e. the top part of the blind in the correct position  for you whilst you screw the side channels  into place.  Once this is done the blind is quite secure and you will have no concerns.

Thanks Roy, we usually recommend that these blinds can take 7 - 10 working days. This is because they are made to order and so, on occassions when we have an influx of orders, can sometimes take a while to manufacture. That doesn't mean to say that they won't turn up quicker, like in your case. We're glad that you're happy and hope your blinds serve you well!

I am sorry you felt that the delivery was slow. We do normally recommend 7 - 10 working days for delivery as the products are made to order so that they are good to use for your specific type of window (there are many!). I see that you placed your order on 6th March and that it was with you by the 15th so reached you in 7 working days as advised. I hope you can understand that that does mean that the product is not rushed but that time has been spent on it to ensure it is of the utmost quality.

While we are pleased you have given us 4 stars, we would like to just address your points:

1. We can / could have provided the blind with a white surround. they come in brushed aluminium as standard, but we can provide a white surround by special request.

2. The blind takes a long time to come because it is made to measure. Roto blackout blinds are a made to measure product and are usually delivered inside 7 working days.

Roger, we believe under the 300 series Roto had several different roof windows including the 300 series, 320 and 320+. All of these may have been very slightly different in dimensions (less than mm's) and this could be the difference. Otherwise it may be down to the window being at least 10-15 years old. it is possible that moisture may have got into the sash and caused the wood to swell. This is the first issue we have come accross of this type but thank yuou for the feedback, we will investigaet further.

Order was delivered on time and packaging protected the blind well, installation started well with the main blind can but adding the side rails whilst slitting in the blind material was a little tricky, would advise to get some help to hold the side rails while securing them with the screws. Overall a very high quality and good looking product, no real complaints. Need 3 more and won't hesitate to use Loftshop.

Good service. Code numbers are a bit confusing but a phone call clarified things. The design is much better that the ones we replaced and very easy to fit with just 4 screws.

Yes, the codes on the roof windows or serial numbers as they are sometimes referred to can indeed be confusing. This is because over the years the main roof windows that have been sold in the UK Velux and Roto/ Loft Shop have had many different series of windows, and many different sizes, add to that all the other brands which have become popular in recent years such as Fakro, Keylite, Luctis etc and you end up with a lot of different codes! The drop down menu and 'How do I know what blind to order' page should make things a bit easierbut if you are in any doubt at all, simply call us on 0208 5515800 and we will be delighted to help you!
