Loft Conversions Success Story 5 - Mr and Mrs Ford

Loft Conversions Mr and Mrs Ford from Bromley, Kent who have what has to be the largest and most extravagant loft conversion appearing on these pages!

Loft Life, who is a long-standing customer of the Loft Shop, carried out the conversion. They are featured under our ‘Need Loft Work done’ section on the website, and operate predominantly out of West London, South London and Kent.

Loft Conversions The loft conversion features a large master bedroom, walk in wardrobe, luxurious en suite bathroom, and another spare room. The master bedroom has a custom-made roof dome directly above the bed that allows light to flood the room. The balconies on the dormer create spectacular views, and the various roof windows all help to create that feeling of light and space.

Roof domes are an ideal way of adding extra light to any room, and this can again be seen in the bathroom, where yet another roof dome allows the room to be transformed.

Of course this is not a typical loft conversion, rather one at the top end of the market, but it is useful to consider just what can be made possible in an otherwise unused space!

The Fords were delighted with their loft conversion and know that it has added great value to their house somewhere in the region of £100,000. With 3 children, they were certain that they needed more space, but did not want to move out of the area, or indeed make their first child who is 13 move schools at what is a very important age, so the only option was to make the existing house bigger. They were also pleased with the fashion in which Loft Life undertook the Loft conversion. ‘Loft Life have a penalty clause in their Loft Conversions contract which means they guarantee that work is completed inside 6-8 weeks to a good finish and to councils regulations. If this is not done, they deduct £500 a week until it is!’ said Mrs Ford.

Again in the spare bedroom, the introduction of light above a bed in the form of Colt Roto roof windows works extremely well
