The Rotorvent from Colt Cowls!

AT THIS TIME OF YEAR...

...we have all settled down to relax in front of the fire on a cold and windy day - some of us may even have accompanied this with a glass of our favourite tipple!

But, have you ever been rudely accosted by a mysterious puff of smoke and fumes that suddenly decides to launch itself into the room from the hearth?

Many of you will say no…and you are the lucky ones! But those of you who have experienced this are experiencing a downdraught problem. You may also be the people who find it difficult to light your fire, and get a decent draw up the chimney.

Don’t worry…there is a cure!

Colt Cowls have been market leaders in the production of chimney cowls since 1931 and have a range of products designed specifically to combat down draught problems. King of all these is the Rotorvent!

The Rotorvent is the most popular revolving cowl in the UK and one that is proven to cure 99% of down draught problems. In fact we are so confident of the quality of this product that it comes with an unconditional money back guarantee, i.e. if it does not cure your down draught problem you get your money back!

Even in the slightest breeze the Rotorvent will begin to revolve which in turn creates an uplift inside the chimney curing that annoying downdraught forever!

1. The Rotorvent comes with the tried and tested hook bolt fixing method and is suitable for installation onto chimney pots or flue pipes. Wingnuts on the exterior of the product must simply be tightened allowing the hook bolts to grip to the inside of the chimney pot or flue.

2. The Rotorvent is available in two sizes. The Mini Rotorvent is suitable for installation on pots or pipes 80-180mm internal diameter and the regular Rotorvent is suitable for pots from 80-250mm internal diameter.

3. Both the Rotorvent and Mini Rotorvent are fully compliant with BS EN 186 – 1: 2003 and is suitable for use on all types of fuel

4. The Rotorvents base is made from pressure die cast LM6 aluminium and is therefore both robust and durable. An integral rain lip helps prevent water ingress and a brass bearing ensures that the product can operate from temperatures of -20 to 2OO°C. The solid base is strengthened further by channels which allow the hook bolts to stay located in position when fixing. Pre drilled holes also allow the base to be fixed to a flat surface (i.e. when there is no chimney pot)

5. The unique fin fixing system ensures that the blades of the fin stay where they should. External welding or riveting of the fins has proven in the past to have failed, and so the Rotorvent uses centrifugal forces to its advantage – as the cowl revolves quicker, the tabs are forced onto the inside of the collar, putting no pressure on the weld, and indeed strengthening the structure! The whole of the Rotorvent ‘bowl’ is made from high quality stainless steel, meaning that the product will not corrode.

6. An optional opening kit is also available for the Rotorvent which fits underneath the base and allows the product to be opened whilst it sits on the chimney

7. The Rotorvent is widely regarded as the best quality revolving cowl on the market and as mentioned earlier comes with an Unconditional Money Back Guarantee. It arrives packaged in an attractive looking box with full installation instructions included
